Happy #MakersWednesday, everyone! It’s like Show and Tell for grownups!
Today I’m sharing a hat I knitted for my son, but before I do I just have to share the story of how it came to be (I’m guessing some of you Mama Makers can relate):
The other day my 5-year-old son was getting bundled up to go out and play in the back yard. As I helped him put on his coat, I realized that he probably didn’t have a hat that fit him any more. So I said, “I should knit you a hat!” He agreed wholeheartedly, and requested that I make it red and blue.
He went outside to play, and came back in about ten minutes later. I bet you can guess what he asked me –
“Mom, is my hat finished yet?”
Uhhhhh.
I had to explain to him that I couldn’t just drop everything and knit a hat in the middle of my working day, but that I would definitely get to work on it soon and he’d have it as soon as I could finish it. He had to wait about a week, but he finally got his red and blue hat (also requested: the pom pom on top).
So, what have you been making this week, for yourselves or your loved ones? Tag it #MakersWednesday and share!
